About

About the model

The Vibe Quality Model (VibeQM) is a five-level quality model for software written with AI coding agents: a team earns more AI autonomy by proving quality. This page records who wrote it, its independence, how it is versioned, and how to cite it.

§1 · Author

Eduardo Sanchez

Eduardo Sanchez works in a team of programmers on a US Department of Defense (DoD) contract, and is the creator of the Vibe Quality Model. He was certified as an internal CMMI auditor and an internal ISO 9001 auditor at a federal contractor in Reston, Virginia, with dozens of government contracts.

§2 · Independence

An independent framework

VibeQM is not affiliated with or endorsed by the owner of any other model or standard, and uses no text from any other model. A VibeQM level is not equivalent to a level in any other model, and no official body stands behind the levels.

§3 · Versions

How the model changes

The model is versioned. The current version is 0.4.4, of 17 October 2026. Each change is dated and recorded with the decision behind it, and the specification, the assessor procedure and the documentation standard are published with each version. AI tools change every few months, and the model is expected to change with them: practices that are advanced today may become basic requirements in a later version.

§4 · Citation

How to cite
